Taking decisive leaps of faith in order to get to the present can also be seen as an individual maximizing potential. He gives out the idea that maybe we need to give that 10% to humanity. When we are living in places like America it is impossible to be off grid without extreme measures, so why not give America/humanity 10% of our life force in order to not draw attention to ourselves; pay that tax if you will. The other 90% should be dedicated to the alchemy of our souls and decoding the symbols that we are bombarded with on a daily bases. When the learned occultist is faced with a simple option, they are equip to let their subconscious mind handle the decision. This is because they have already trained their subconscious mind to make the choice that will lead them to more of their goal or less of the negative. It takes skill to know your spiritual positive and negative because in the physical world there is no good or evil, just high energies of drive. When the learned occultist is faced with difficult options, they are equip with an arsenal of options to face options. The hermetic laws are like play books to the learned occultist. As above so below means you can always simplify a problem into smaller parts. Polarity and rhythm can be used as tools to take away or build power from decisions. The law of vibration calms the learned occultist along with the laws of gender by taking away unnecessary fear. So we as unlearned occultist may indeed learn from the mastery of the occultists may we as unlearned occultists not be detoured from learning by the likes of humanity.
